Isle of Wight festival organisers offering free tickets to finder
A campaign to trace a stolen camper van worth more than £14,000 has been shared on Facebook by over a million people.

James Eppy, of Athenlay Road, Nunhead, was at home with his youngest son last Wednesday afternoon when he discovered his treasured white VW Campervan, nicknamed Ursula, was missing.

After calling police the father-of-five was prompted to upload a photo of the vintage vehicle to Facebook.

To his surprise it was shared by 2,500 people within the first 24 hours and has since gone on to be shared by more than 1m social network users.
Celebrities have also got behind the cause, with Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, Travis frontman Fran Healy and singer Sandie Shaw all retweeting an appeal using the #FindUrsula hashtag.

Organisers of the Isle of White Festival, which Mr Eppy purchased camper van tickets for, are offering free tickets as reward to anyone who is able to reunite him with the van.

The camper van, which was built in 1969, has Saab front-seats, raised silver panels and a distinctive 70s style.

Mr Eppy, a photographer, purchased the van four years ago with his army pension after retiring from his position as a helicopter pilot.
He said: “As soon as I found that she was missing, I went to Facebook still in shock. I think a picture paints a thousand words.

“I was absolutely gutted. I have never lost a child, it is somehow I would expect it to be in my head and my heart.”

Ursula was last thought to have been seen on a flatbed heading north on the M1 with the roof-rack removed.

A number of people have come forward claiming to have seen the van, but police have confirmed it was not Ursula.

Anyone with information can call Mr Eppy on 07803148527.
